Sage CRM for Android is all about giving sales teams total mobility. The Sage CRM Android app gives sales teams real-time access to Sage CRM sales and client contact data so that they can always be up to date with their latest sales activities. Sage CRM for Android allows sales teams to track the most important customer communications such whether by SMS, email or phone and retrieve detailed reports in a few swipes.

Sage is just one of a plethora of CRM apps for Android, such as SalesforceIQ, Zoho CRM, and Pipedrive. Of course, if you’re already using Sage CRM on site for managing your sales contacts, leads and opportunities it’s worth downloading the free app and trying it for size.

Customize Sage the way you want it

In Sage CRM, you can configure the dashboard the way you want to include such things as deals, advertising or client administration. You can maximize every segment to full screen, or perform an activity by adding more sections to a report.

There are a wide range of detailed reports to help you identify trends and problems but reports are only exportable in CSV format from the Android app – there’s no XLS or PDF exporting.

Sage CRM is highly customizable throughout, allowing you to display custom fields for people and opportunities on the app. You can easily add appointments and tasks to your phone and push them to Sage CRM when you are back online. This is one of the most convenient features of Sage CRM – the ability to access vital customer information even when out of coverage of a WiFi network or Mobile data plan.

The Sage CRM Android app enable sales users to access and update the CRM regardless of their location. When out of the office, sales teams can keep on top of their activity with access to key opportunities, appointments and tasks. They will also be able to track key customer communications such as SMS messages, emails and calls and record them in Sage CRM. Android users can also choose how to add their phone contacts as a Person or Lead record in Sage CRM. A system administrator has the ability to display new custom fields for people and opportunities on the Android app by adding or remove fields to an extra mobile screen defined in meta data.

Opportunity knocks

If you need to import your phone contacts as a Lead or Person into Sage CRM, it’s easy to do so and the same goes for new meetings, tasks and map appointments. You can track and log outbound calls, email and SMS activities and also grant read-only access to history, favorites under Opportunities. If you need to add more detail to a contact, you can add notes to both Contacts and Opportunities.

Limitations of Sage CRM

There are some problems with Sage CRM for Android. For email use, Sage CRM only integrates with Outlook too so if you’re using an alternative mail client on your Android device, it won’t be able to connect to Sage’s server.

There’s also no tracking of rival competitor data, which makes it harder to use Sage CRM to spot potential opportunities and shortfalls in your company. One other thing to check before downloading the Android version is what version of Sage you are using. Sage CRM for Android is only available to customers using Sage CRM Professional (Cloud) and Sage CRM 7.3 (On-Premise) or later ,so you may have to upgrade your onsite version of Sage before being able to use it. It also requires your system administrator to activate mobile access which has to be done for each individual user.

Conclusion

Most of the advantages that apply to the on-site version of Sage apply to the Android version. There are few differences whether you are using Sage CRM Cloud or Sage CRM On-Premise deployment, and integration with the backoffice is solid thanks to Sage’s Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (RESTful API).

The overall value for money of Sage CRM is very good when you consider the feature set, usability, and architecture. Considering that Sage CRM also offers cross-browser capability via HTML5 and the Android app, there’s no excuse for not being able to access it anywhere, anytime.
